Bobby is originally from North Carolina, but resides in Columbia with his wife. They have 4 adult children and some amazing grandchildren that are an amazing highlight of their lives. Bobby is pursuing a counseling degree at Liberty University as a second (or third) career, after his time as a school principal and as a pastor.
Connecting the dots of some of his career shifts over the years, the ups and downs of working in ministry and with children and families, he saw the patterns of the desire to help others and see through the shiny facade to the deeper, less glamorous truths that lie inside all of us. From his own early upbringing, being raised by his grandparents due to his parents' separation soon after his birth, Bobby brings an understanding of what it is like to move through life with a little confusion regarding where one actually belongs.
Through life changes, loss, life-threatening illnesses, loved ones with addiction, career changes, and so on, Bobby brings a WEALTH of wisdom to the counseling office. His desire is to help others as they are forced to navigate scary and unfamiliar roads, or even roads they seem to run over and over and cannot find their way out of. No one should walk these roads alone. And his motto is not to spare you from the wisdom you will gain as you face these challenges, but to be there to walk along side you to help you take courage and find a NEW way forward.
