“The first step of getting somewhere is to decide you are not going to stay where you are.” -J.P. Morgan

With over twenty years of counseling experience, I am grateful to be a part of the Matters of the Heart family! With my compassion for others who are hurting, I am honored to walk alongside clients through crisis, change or loss. I have worked with all age groups and I am highly skilled to support those who may be experiencing anxiety and depression, adjusting to a life transition, or coping with grief. My therapeutic approach is client-centered and I strive to meet people where they truly are! Like many clinical social workers, I integrate a diverse blend of therapeutic models that are proven to be successful to give the results and changes you want to see in your life and relationships.
“Do the best you can until you know better, then when you know better, do better.”
-Maya Angelou

In my clinical experience and personal journey, I believe the therapeutic process is much like this quote. Effective counseling can help you gain understanding about the way you feel, think, act and interact with others. When we have an increased understanding, then we can learn new ways of communicating, thinking and healing past hurts and live a fuller life of emotional, relational and mental wellness!
