Ellie has been studying Psychology since graduating from Appalachian State University in 2023. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a focus on human services. She has always had a passion for helping others and for people in general, so she decided to pursue a graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling at Belmont University. She looks forward to serving the community through empathetic, caring, and mindful counseling. She is excited about working with individuals all across the lifespan and meeting them where they are!

Ellie’s orientation is very human-centered, with elements of a Cognitive-Behavioral approach to therapy rooted in empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. She believes that each individual holds the capacity for growth and healing, and she strives to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. Her work honors each person’s unique experiences and strengths, moving at a pace that feels right for them.

Outside the counseling office, you can find me with my cats (my fosters and my own). I love volunteering at animal shelters as a way to give back. Reading and hanging out with friends are my favorite ways to spend my free time. I also practice yoga to manage my own mental and physical health. I look forward to meeting you!

-Carl Rogers

“We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet
listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces of change that I know.”
